trick or treat letter

raumdeuterDO WANT: My actual favorite thing in the world is sci-fi AUs and unusual fusions, especially if they start with a foot in the canon setting and then suddenly, like, kaiju attack or the apocalypse happens or whatever. Basically my jam is characters who are forced to confront new things in a once-familiar world. Possibly as a metaphor for something, although it really doesn’t have to be.
Also, please please bear in mind that this is by no means meant to be any kind of strict guideline! If it turns out that’s not up your alley, I’ve listed more specific tricks/treats below. Also know that I’m a huge sucker for any kind of focus on character relationships, so you really can’t go wrong with that.
DO NOT WANT: A/B/O, kidfic, pregnancy (up to and including mpreg), school AUs, underage, deathfic, love triangles that don’t end in threesomes, downer endings (that aren’t horror). I’m probably cool with anything else, but if you want to write a kink you’re not sure if I’d like, please feel free to drop me a line anon!
TRICK: General horror, supernatural AUs, xeno, zombies, ghosts, apocalypse/post-apocalypse AUs, tropes gone horribly wrong (sex pollen! soulmates! whatever!).
TREAT: I have a sweet tooth a mile long oh god. Coffeeshop/restaurant/bakery AUs, domestic shenanigans, unlikely friends, fix-its, hurt/comfort, any kind of smut. Or gen!
Football RPF (Xabi Alonso, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Lukas Podolski, Philipp Lahm, Manuel Neuer, Miroslav Klose)
Ships: Polish Bros, Lahmsteiger, Xabi/Philipp, Miro/Any or All of the Above
If it’s not immediately obvious by the characters I requested (and my icon, and my username…), I’m a diehard Bayern fan, but I also love the German NT, so I’d be perfectly happy with either setting!
In terms of Bayern, I love Xabi’s weird mercenary relationship with us as compared to his stints at Liverpool and Madrid. I know by now not to fall for his proclamations of love, I know he’s really only here for a change of pace and to train under Pep, and yet somehow every time I see him wearing our kit and interacting with Philipp and Thomas and Manu my heart grows three sizes. I like the idea of Xabi/Thomas “One-Man Bavarian Welcome Party” Müller, but I also feel like Xabi/Philipp is something that’s never really been pursued and yet would work so well. Xabi’s the kind of footballer who can never stay put and Philipp’s a one-club man, Stuttgart notwithstanding, but there's still something quietly calculating and distinctly Slytherin about both of them, so maybe a fic about each trying to get the other’s measure and finding some common ground? Also, I love Lahmsteiger and will continue to love it despite Basti’s self-imposed exile in Manchester; anything about their always having each other’s backs (and Thomas too!) would be really great.
Manu is--well, Manu's a wild card for me. I'd happily ship him with anyone listed, but it's his personality that really intrigues me; he's a lot harder to get a read on than most of his teammates. He's fickle and sarcastic and arrogant in a different way from Thomas, and as boring as it may sound I'd be perfectly happy reading a character study as much as anything else. (Alternative trick: Manu's not-so-secret dark side we should all have seen coming?)
As far as the NT’s concerned, Miro was the first footballer I fell in love with (his humility! his quiet, self-deprecating wit! his very excellent thighs!) and basically I want him to have all the good things in life, up to and including banging all his teammates. I ship Miro/Thomas and Miro/Poldi the most but really I’m not picky as long as he’s happy. :’) A treat where he magically deages and rejoins the NT would probably make my life.
(But, like. He suffers so beautifully, in case you want to write a trick....)
I do like Schweinski and Gerlonso (god do I love Gerlonso) but would prefer the ships I listed above, simply because these two are so popular in the fandom and I’m a sucker for rarepairs!
Samsung Galaxy 11 “Football Will Save The Planet” Commercials (Any Character)
Ships: Crismessi, ????
Honestly probably my favorite ad campaign in the history of anything ever. It’s just so earnest and over-the-top and basically just a high-budget Crismessi fanfic where everyone trains with clay pigeons and keeps dead pigs in their garages and Franz Beckenbauer assembles a world-saving team featuring ten forwards and only one Bavarian. Literally anything you could give me in this world would be fantastic. I mean, I honestly don’t ship Crismessi normally, but in this world? Where they reluctantly team up to save the world and then presumably get married and start like some kind of football orphanage in the end? Sign me up.
What would also be great, if you want, is a different Galaxy11, one actually assembled with a modicum of tactics in mind. Or, like, Zlatan. Whatever.
Alternatively, xeno! I can’t be the only one who wants it, and I would really like it with Iker if at all possible. This could go either in the trick or the treat box; I’m not gonna be picky.
Manuel Neuer Coke Zero Commercials (Manuel Neuer | Girlfriend)
Ships: Manuel Neuer | Girlfriend/Boyfriend
I really like the idea of a world where Manu turns into a girl whenever he drinks Coke Zero, somehow manages to acquire a boyfriend, and then has to keep up some wacky Ranma ½ style double life where Manuela mysteriously goes missing whenever Bayern plays or has a photoshoot.
This could also be expanded to include the newest Coke commercial where Manu’s a software engineer, although I’m not sure how you’d do that. Maybe it’s Manu’s boyfriend who’s the software engineer?
Rivers of London – Ben Aaronovitch (Thomas Nightingale, Peter Grant, Abigail Kamara, Mama Thames)
Ships: Peter/Nightingale
There are so many things about this series I enjoy and would love expanding on. I especially love the rivers and how they “work,” for lack of a better word—how they’re created, how they view humanity, what their daily responsibilities might be. I also really like the sense of transition in the books—the progression from Newtonian magic to something less structured. Peter’s willingness to keep an open mind and poke all the rules of established magic with a stick is one of the things I love most about his character, and I love how through him, diversity and multiculturalism and different points of view are slowly beginning to enter into what was previously exclusively the domain of upper-class white men.
With that in mind, I’d love any kind of interaction between characters who might not normally interact, like Abigail and Mama Thames. I love all the background characters in general, so cameos by Sahra or Jaget would be great too! Basically there’s a huge sandbox to play in here, so feel free to take full advantage of it and go wild.
I dig Starlingale, obviously, but that’s not a requirement for the fic at all; the world is really what I’m interested in, and I’d be perfectly happy with gen as well.
Sense8 (Wolfgang Bogdanow, Felix Bernner, Sun Bak)
Ships: Wolfgang/Felix, Wolfgang/Sun, Lito/Hernando, Wolfgang/Lito/Hernando, Sun/Capheus
Found families are one of my biggest weaknesses, so I have a horrible soft spot for Wolfgang and Felix and their dumb trash relationship. I'd love pre-series fic about their earlier escapades, whether as kids or as adults.
Also, Wolfgang and Sun never really got a chance to talk to each other in Season 1, so I’d love more interaction between them. There’s a lot they can teach each other about duty and family and choice. Or maybe they can argue about it. Or maybe they can do neither and dole out multiple repeated asskickings to whomever deserves it. It’s up to you!
Speaking of Sun, one of my favorite things about her is how she's presented at first as like...this Asian ice queen stereotype, but then it turns out she's actually a ball of rage who wants to fight everything literally all the time, so anything featuring that aspect of her personality would be really nice! And it breaks my heart that she's still stuck in prison at the end of the season, so some treat fic where the other sensates show her around their respective cities would be super great!
I would also give my hypothetical firstborn for a football AU of any kind. Maybe the sensates are a coed team and you can fill out the rest of the roster with their friends? I have a mighty need for Wolfgang and Sun on the wings and Lito in goal but really feel free to arrange the lineup however you like!
