Dear Yuletide writer,

 

Thanks so much for offering one of my fandoms! I'm super excited about my first-ever Yuletide, and I'm sure I'm going to love whatever you decide to write for me! :') I'm raumdeuter on AO3 (creative, I know).

 

General Likes: Magical/fantasy AUs, historical AUs, sci-fi AUs, apocalypse AUs, fandom fusions. I love fics that start off with a foot in reality-- where everyone is still footballers to begin with before shit starts going down (in the vein of, say, everyone plays at Bayern and then kaiju attack!). 

 

Other things I love: friends to lovers, soulbonding, bodyswap, wingfic, sex pollen, fuck or die, pwp, xeno, tentacles. Generally speaking, I prefer third person POV, past or present tense, and anything from gen to smut is A++ by me, so please don't feel obligated to write either!

 

DNWs: A/B/O, kidfic, pregnancy fic (including mpreg), noncon (dubcon is fine, though!), underage, permanent character death, scat, downer endings, evil WAGs (I'm okay with universes where WAGs conveniently don't exist or are beards or whatever, though!), school/high school/college AUs, World War II AUs. I'm not super big on mundane AUs (e.g. coffeeshop, bakery) unless only one person in the ship works in the coffeeshop or bakery and the other is still a footballer.

Bayern München RPF: Xabi Alonso, Thomas Müller, Philipp Lahm

Ships: Xabi/Thomas, Xabi/Philipp, Thomas/Robert, Thomas/Holger

 

I love Xabi’s weird mercenary relationship with us as compared to his stints at Liverpool and Madrid. I know by now not to fall for his proclamations of love, I know he’s really only here for a change of pace and to train under Pep, and yet somehow every time I see him wearing our kit and interacting with Philipp and Thomas my heart grows three sizes. As much as I love Gerlonso (and I do, I do), I'm really interested in a fic that explores how Xabi's adjusting to Bayern and his teammates here specifically.

 

In that vein, I love the idea of Xabi/Thomas “One-Man Bavarian Welcome Party” Müller; Xabi's always been drawn to people who embody the spirits of their clubs, for better or worse, and Thomas is definitely one of those people. I also feel like Xabi/Philipp is something that’s never really been pursued and yet would work so well. Xabi’s the kind of footballer who can never stay put and Philipp’s a one-club man, Stuttgart notwithstanding, but there's still something quietly calculating and distinctly Slytherin about both of them. They're both so analytical and cunning, in slightly different ways, so maybe a fic about each trying to get the other’s measure and finding some common ground?

 

As far as Thomas goes, it's no secret he's my favorite Bayern player. I love his passion, how he lives and breathes football, how he's endlessly inventive and devious and such an asshole on the pitch when he gives his all. I especially love his intelligence and wit, how he runs circles around reporters and picks on everyone around him, including himself. Any fic where he gets a chance to showcase that wit would be glorious. I love his partnership with Robert and would love to see that developed, either on the pitch and off; failing that, I've shipped Thomas/Holger for ages, and I feel like their relationship would make a fantastic friends-to-lovers fic.

 

For the record, feel free to write just one of the listed characters or all of them or any combination of the above!

 

Prompt ideas:

-A Hogwarts AU where Xabi and Fips are actual Slytherins? I know people get into actual fights about sorting and I'm not here to do that, I just really love Hogwarts AUs. (But Thomas and Holger are definitely in Gryffindor.)

-Mobile suit pilots AU! I admit it, I'm straight up Gundam trash and I have a weak spot for space opera the size of Australia, so anything either set in the Gundam timeline of your choice or just a generic sci-fi-with-mobile-suits setting would be super great.

-In the same vein, Pacific Rim AU, because I can never say no to giant fighty robots. I'd love Müllendowski for this one! (Bonus points for background Mario and David in a Jaeger.)

-Xabi gets a tour of Munich, courtesy of the Bavarian of your choice?

-Some kind of supernatural AU where Thomas is a kelpie who talks his victims to death unless they bang him or beat him at Schafkopf.

German National Football Team RPF: Miroslav Klose

Ships: Miro/Thomas, Miro/Poldi, Miro/Philipp

 

God, where do I even start with Miro? He was the first footballer I fell in love with, back in the day, and he's still my number one favorite. I love his humility, his reserve, his willingness to put his head down and get the job done; I love his sharp and self-deprecating wit, contrasted (and combined with!) his sudden awkwardness in front of the media. I love how his personality is still shot through with this streak of raw ambition, and how that influences so many of his decisions off the pitch.

 

And his thighs, I especially love his thighs.

 

Miro makes a fantastic straight man for all kinds of weird shit, so feel free to put him through the wringer as long as he makes it out okay on the other side!

 

Prompt ideas:

-Any of the AUs from the Bayern prompts, feat. either Bayern when Miro played for them or the German NT?

-Give me feelings about the World Cup, any or all of them from 2002 onward. I remember being utterly convinced that 2010 was gonna be his last tournament; I can't even begin to describe how I felt when he finally won in 2014.

-In that same vein, any kind of groundhog day/time travel AU. Miro to me has always been a man who's never quite run out of time, even though I was always certain he was going to, and his impending retirement is Doing Things to me.

-Or some kind of character study? Club Miro and Country Miro were two totally different people for so much of his career: something exploring his motivation and his relationships with his team could be really interesting.

-Ten...tacles....... (He likes to fish, it's a thing, it could totally happen.)

Football Commentator RPF: Michael Ballack, Alexi Lalas

Ships: Micha/Alexi

 

I fell in love with Ballalas and their married bickering over the course of Euro 2012 and I'm still not over them. I had this lowkey crush on Micha as a kid and I love their dynamic of like...battle-weary exasperated stoic veteran vs. That Upstart American. It's great. The rest of the ESPN crew is totally welcome as well, and please feel free to pretend Alexi didn't leave everyone for FOX last year!

 

Prompt ideas:

-Culture clash/language differences/comedy of errors where one of them can't figure out whether the other is actually flirting or not.

-Gay chicken that inevitably ends up in supply closet sex.

-Hogwarts AU where they're both Gryffindors in the same year and can't fucking stand each other.

-Trapped in a snowstorm/huddling for warmth/shipwrecked on an island? Anything where they're forced to work together under unpleasant circumstances.

13th Century CE Russia RPF: Onfim of Novgorod, Danilo of Novgorod

Let me be the first to admit that I know next to nothing about 13th century Russia, which ought to give you a little more freedom if you decide to write it for me! But my favorite aspect of history has always been the little things that show that people have been people for pretty much forever--the Pompeii graffiti, the ancient Chinese exam cheat sheets, and this. So what were Onfim and Danilo like? What kinds of notes did Danilo write back, if he did? What happened to them when they grew up? Failing in that, if you don't want to do the research (and I don't blame you), this is the one fandom where I wouldn't mind a straight up mundane modern AU, as long as Onfim's doodles make an appearance!

 

Prompt ideas:

-Onfim and Danilo in a jaaaaaaeeeger.........

-Coffeeshop AU where barista!Onfim leaves little doodles on Danilo's coffee cups?

-Onfim's drawings start coming to life! Are they friendly? Hostile? How do he and Danilo handle it?

-AU where Onfim's beast is actually his fantasy mount? What does Danilo ride?

Uprooted (Naomi Novik): Kasia, Agnieszka

I'll be honest, I spent the entire book hoping Agnieszka/Kasia would be endgame, and when it wasn't I was a little disappointed. I'd love anything that either lets that happen in-canon or, failing in that, an exploration into their friendship. I do like Sarkan, I just don't really ship him with Agnieszka!

 

Prompt ideas:

-Any pre-canon interactions between Agnieszka and Kasia as kids? How did they become friends? What's Agnieszka's dearest memory of Kasia?

-Anything about Kasia learning about her newfound strength as a tree person, and Agnieszka trusting her enough to let Kasia touch/hold her.

-Speaking of tree people, I feel like this is the only canon in my list where sex pollen wouldn't be entirely out of the ordinary. 

-Post-apocalypse AU? Tree zombies? Agnieszka and Kasia are practically indestructible at this point but I'm sure the apocalypse would pose at least a serious threat.

-Bodyswap fic where Kasia has to learn how to control Agnieszka's magic, and Agnieszka has to deal with being a tree?

Honestly, I love everything about this concept, and I'd love fic about it regardless of how you write it. Do all the teams live on a separate plane of existence, or do they live in our world? If it's the former, what's a normal day in their lives look like? If it's the latter, do the teams and their managers know they exist? How do they feel about each other? I feel like there's so much potential here, and you can take it any number of ways!

 

Bayern's my team, so of course I have a preference for her, but I'd love to see fic of anyone who's been drawn (especially Arsenal--I bet she has a couple stories she could tell).

 

Prompt ideas:

-For some reason I seriously want heistfic, like some kind of Ocean's Eleven type thing where a bunch of these ladies have to come together to steal a thing. Real Madrid's crown, maybe?

-How's Real Madrid dealing with Iker's departure to Porto? How's Porto handling it?

-Derbyfic! Any kind! All kinds! RM/Barca, maybe, or NYCFC/Red Bulls? Liverpool/Everton? BVB/Schalke? If they live on a separate plane of existence, why are they rivals? If they live in our world, what happens on matchday?

-Lazio pays Miro a visit while he's injured to express how much she wants to see him back on the pitch. Possibly with pegging.
